Technology Policy

At Let’s Create and all of our affiliated camps, we prioritize the safety, well-being, and personal growth of our campers. While we understand the importance of staying connected, we believe that a camp experience is best enjoyed without the distractions of constant technology use. Our technology policy is designed to promote social interaction, outdoor activities, and a balanced approach to screen time.

  1. Phones and Devices • Phones will not be allowed in camper rooms during the night to ensure a restful and distraction-free sleep environment. • Campers are allowed to check their phones periodically during the day during designated times (e.g., after lunch or before evening activities). These check-ins will be supervised by camp staff to ensure safety and appropriateness. • During check-ins, campers may use their phones for important communication with parents or guardians, but the phones must remain in public or common areas, not in individual rooms.  Photographs, videos or audio recordings (on any devices) of other children and staff attending the camps are not permitted anytime.
  1. Other Electronic Devices • Electronic devices such as tablets, laptops, and gaming consoles will not be permitted at camp. • If a camper needs a device for educational purposes (e.g., a special learning requirement), this must be approved in advance by camp management.
  1. Social Media & Communication • Campers are encouraged to enjoy face-to-face communication and outdoor activities, building meaningful friendships and experiences. • Use of social media or other online communication platforms will not be allowed while at camp. We will ensure that campers have adequate opportunities to enjoy their time outdoors without the pressure of digital interactions.
  1. Lost or Damaged Phones Let’s Create and all affiliated camps are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged phones. We encourage campers to store their phones in a safe place during the day, and to follow the camp’s guidelines for keeping personal items secure.
  1. Emergencies • In the event of an emergency, devices will be returned to children and all parents will be contacted by staff  • If a camper needs to urgently contact their family, the camp will assist in facilitating this communication.
  1. Policy Enforcement • Campers and their families are expected to adhere to the technology policy for the duration of their stay. • Any violation of the policy may result in the phone being held by camp staff for the remainder of the session, or other consequences as deemed appropriate by the camp directors. By maintaining a healthy balance between technology use and outdoor camp activities, we can ensure that each camper has a fun, enriching, and memorable experience while here at our camps. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
